The Day After
We didn't wake up until about 10:30 the day after the Clemson game, since we didn't really get to bed until around 6 AM local time. We wandered around, went shopping, and ate a lot of Italian food. More pizza, pasta, and gelato.
Here is a group of tourists, underneath them, if you look closely, you will see the "Spanish Steps."
After spending 8 weeks in Saudi Arabia without seeing a woman I couldn't help but notice and snap a shot of this sexy long legged tourist.
Their generously large toppings make pizza hard to cut, hard to eat, but delicious.
Amanda riding the lion. In Piazza Del Popolo.
We accidentally ran into the ancient city walls while wondering around.
For some reason I always feel more comfortable taking pictures with food in my mouth.
Vatican Day
This morning we got up early and headed to the Vatican for a semi-private tour of the Vatican Museums, with access to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica.
Art.
I've asked Amanda if we can do something similar in our bedroom.
The ridiculous scale of some of these paintings / exhibits is just hard to capture. This painting by Raphael takes up an entire wall.
In St. Peter's Basilica.
Inside the dome of St. Peter's
Looking at the top of the dome.
I was starting to get hungry.
Heading up to the top of the dome. Amanda is standing straight up.
551 steps later...
On our way back down, slightly re-energized by the Basilica Snack Bar.
Back down inside St. Peter's.
We were up there. (Middle of the frame where there are people)
And us outside.
Tomorrow it is off to Tuscany! Expect some pictures and stories in a few days.
